Utah Olympic Park (UOP) Bobsled and Skeleton Driving School
March 2-3-4-5-6, 2010
Ice Time: 2:00pm to 4:00pm Daily
- Participants must be fourteen years and older.
- Participants desiring to drive a Skeleton must be at least 5 feet tall and weight one-hundred pounds or more. Bobsled participants must be at least 5 feet tall and weight one-hundred-thirty pounds or more.
- Participants will be required to sign a (UOP) waiver.
- All Driving School participants, drivers and brakepersons must be Athlete Members of the United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation (USBSF) , or provide proof of Athlete Membership from FIBT recognized Federation’s, prior to registering for the Driving School.
- For beginning Driving Schools only, Utah Olympic Park will provide necessary assistance for all participants.
- For bobsled, beginners need ambulatory brakepersons until the driver of the sled is able to reach the finish dock without assistance. The brakeperson must be able to get out of the sled at the bottom and hold the sled from going backwards and push it up to the finish dock and pull the sled off the track.
- Bobsled and Skeleton drivers must pay $600.00 for the School. If a participant requires adaptive equipment, drivers must provide their own sleds approved for use on the UOP track. Those drivers would pay a reduced fee of $500.00.
- Each bobsled brakeperson who is not switching off as a bobsled driver must pay $30.00. Designated brakeperson must remain with the driver for the duration of the Driving School.
Minimum Participation is Six (6) Drivers
If the minimum number of Drivers is not met the Driving School will be cancelled.
Registration, proof of Athlete Membership from FIBT recognized Federation’s, and payment in-full must be made to the Utah Olympic Park Sport Services Desk prior to 5:00pm, Tuesday, February 16, 2010.
Participants begin driving from the junior start. Based on progress and coach analysis participants may then move to start three. After a day at start three, participants then move to the top of the track. The school will cover sled and equipment maintenance and the finer points of the sports. Based on coach's discretion, athletes may be invited to join the Development Program, or you may want to join the Club which is geared towards recreational sliding. NOTE: Program enrollment does not guarantee that participants will progress to starting at the top of the Olympic track.

Refund Policies
- Full Refund (except for $25 processing fee): up to 30 days in advance.
- 50% Refund: 30-5 Days in advance ($25 processing fee is included).
- No Refund under 5 days except for medical reasons accompanied by a Doctor’s note. $25 processing fee applied.
